Some emails are not marketing, but they matter just as much: a booking confirmation for a guest flying in from Toronto, an invoice from an accounting system, a password reset from a web app, a monthly statement from a credit union. If those land in spam or never arrive, customers call, complain or go elsewhere. Mailpro’s SMTP server gives Barbadian businesses a dedicated, authenticated relay for these messages, separate from the office mailbox.

Why not send from your regular mailbox?

Office email accounts are designed for person-to-person messages. They have sending limits, little tracking, and their reputation suffers if a system sends hundreds of automated emails through them. A proper SMTP relay is built for volume, authentication and reporting.

What Barbadian organisations route through Mailpro SMTP

  • Hotels and tour operators: booking engines and property management systems sending confirmations and pre-arrival details.
  • Financial and corporate services: client portals, statements, alerts and document notifications.
  • E-commerce: order confirmations, shipping updates and receipts from WooCommerce, Shopify and similar platforms.
  • Software and IT firms: app notifications, sign-up confirmations and password resets.
  • Accounting and ERP systems: invoices and payment reminders.

Mailpro’s SMTP advantages

  • Easy setup: standard host, port and credentials work with almost any application. See SMTP authentication.
  • Domain authentication: SPF, DKIM and DMARC support, which Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft now expect from bulk senders.
  • Tracking: opens, clicks, bounces and delivery status per message with message tracking. Useful when a client says they never received an invoice.
  • Security: connections encrypted with TLS 1.3, and data hosted in Switzerland on private infrastructure outside US jurisdiction.
  • Deliverability: in Mailpro’s own customer survey, users rate email deliverability 9.6/10.
  • Fair pricing: you pay by messages sent, which suits businesses whose volumes rise in high season.

Transactional email and the Data Protection Act

Transactional emails such as confirmations, receipts and statements are usually needed to perform a contract, which is a lawful basis under the Data Protection Act 2019 in its own right. They don’t require marketing consent. Keep them transactional, though. Adding heavy promotions turns them into direct marketing, which brings the marketing rules into play. Because these emails often carry financial or travel details, security and the location of the relay matter. The Act restricts transfers of personal data outside Barbados to places with adequate protection. More in email marketing law in Barbados.
