A good Belizean newsletter is short, visual and easy to read on a phone. It might be a Caye Caulker guesthouse sharing this month’s sunsets and a last-minute room rate, a Belmopan bookshop announcing new school titles before the September term, or a co-operative telling members when the cane harvest payments are due. Mailpro gives you the tools to build it without code or a designer.
Three ways to start
Pick a template
Mailpro’s 600+ templates include layouts for hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, retail and events. Every one is responsive, so it adapts to phone screens automatically. Replace the photos with your own (the reef, your storefront, your team) and the template feels local immediately.
Drag and drop from scratch
Build your own layout block by block: text, images, buttons, social links, video thumbnails and countdown timers. The newsletter academy walks through the editor if you have never used one.
Import your own HTML
If an agency in Belize City or abroad has already coded your newsletter, import the HTML and send it through Mailpro. Our guide to HTML newsletters in Belize covers what to check before sending.
Make it speak to your readers
- Use their name and language: merge fields insert first names, and a language field lets you send English or Spanish versions to the right people. See personalized newsletters.
- Segment by place: a special at your San Ignacio branch is not relevant to customers in Dangriga. Segmentation sends each group only what applies to them.
- Follow the local calendar: September Celebrations, Garifuna Settlement Day on 19 November, the Lobsterfests from mid-June and the Christmas season are all natural reasons to write.
- State prices clearly: say whether a price is in BZ$ or US$. Many visitors do not know that the two currencies circulate side by side.
Before you press send
Preview on a phone, send a test to yourself, and check that your footer shows your business name, address and an unsubscribe link. Online sellers in Belize must show that kind of identifying information under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2021, and it builds trust anyway. Then schedule the send for when your readers are most likely to open it.
After it goes out
Mailpro’s campaign reports show opens, clicks, bounces and unsubscribes by hour and by country, so each issue teaches you something for the next one. For the full process, from goal to results, follow our step-by-step guide on how to create a newsletter in Belize.
