In high season, when the hotel is full, the restaurant is busy and Spicemas is around the corner, nobody has time to write individual follow-up emails. Automation does it for you. You set up a message once, choose what triggers it, and Mailpro sends it to each contact at the right moment.
Automations that suit Grenadian businesses
Welcome series
When someone joins your list, send an instant welcome email, then a second message a few days later with your best content or offer. It sets expectations and starts the relationship while interest is high.
Pre-arrival and post-stay emails
For hotels, villas and tour operators: a pre-arrival email a week before with directions from the airport, weather and packing tips; a welcome on the day; a thank-you and survey after departure; and a “come back” offer months later.
Birthday and anniversary messages
A birthday email with a small gift works for restaurants, salons and retailers. Hotels can mark the anniversary of a honeymoon or wedding held in Grenada.
Term-based messages
Businesses serving the university community can trigger messages from a start-date field: arrival guides, mid-term offers and end-of-term reminders.
Click-based follow-ups
If a reader clicks a link about Carriacou day trips, send them more detail automatically, while others receive something different.
How it works in Mailpro
Choose a trigger, such as a sign-up, a date, a click or a form submission; write the email; set the delay; and switch it on. Use personalisation so every automated email still feels written for the reader. Our step-by-step guide walks through a full example.
Timing for Grenada and abroad
Automations run in Atlantic Standard Time by default. If many recipients are overseas, schedule date-based messages for their daytime. A birthday email that arrives at 3 a.m. loses its charm.
Measure every step
Each automation has its own statistics: sends, opens, clicks and unsubscribes. See our page on automated email statistics for which numbers matter most.
Consent still applies
Automated does not mean unsolicited. Marketing automations should only go to people who opted in, while service messages such as booking confirmations can go to all customers. With Grenada’s Data Protection Act, 2023 not yet in force, the rules of your overseas recipients, such as CAN-SPAM, CASL and the GDPR, are the main legal benchmark.
Service messages versus marketing messages
It helps to keep the two apart. Service messages, such as confirmations, pre-arrival information and receipts, are sent because a customer did something and needs the information. Marketing messages, such as offers, return invitations and cross-sells, are sent to promote your business. Keep service messages focused, and send marketing automations only to contacts who opted in. This separation also keeps your reporting clearer.
Start small
You don’t need ten automations on day one. Start with a welcome email for new subscribers, measure it for a month, and add one new automation at a time. Most Grenadian small businesses find that two or three well-written automations cover most of their needs.
Automations for producers and retailers
Automation is not only for tourism. A spice or chocolate shop can send a reorder reminder a few weeks after each purchase. A pharmacy can remind customers when a regular prescription is due for collection. A gym can check in with members who haven’t visited for a month.
