Whether you run a boutique in Osu, a microfinance company in Kumasi or a university alumni office in Cape Coast, a newsletter is the simplest way to stay in touch with people who asked to hear from you. Mailpro gives you three ways to build one, and none of them require coding.

Three ways to build

Drag-and-drop builder

Assemble blocks for text, images, buttons, social links and countdowns. Ideal for promotions and event invitations, such as a countdown to your Independence Day sale or a Christmas bazaar.

Templates

Start from one of more than 600 newsletter templates and swap in your logo, colours and photos. Templates are responsive by default, which matters in a country where most people read email on a phone.

Your own HTML

Agencies and in-house developers can import finished HTML. See our HTML newsletters guide for Ghana for tips on keeping code lean.

Design choices that suit Ghanaian readers

  • Keep it light. Many readers are on prepaid data. Compress photos and avoid huge header images; Mailpro’s image editor crops and resizes in the browser.
  • Write in the language your readers use. English is the language of business and education, but a greeting in Twi, Ga or Ewe can make a community newsletter feel local. Keep legal and unsubscribe text in English unless your readers prefer otherwise.
  • Show prices in cedis. Use GH₵ or GHS consistently, and state whether prices include VAT and levies.
  • Name the payment options. If customers can pay by mobile money, card or bank transfer, say so near the button.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Sending a flyer as one big image. Many Ghanaian businesses design flyers for WhatsApp and paste them into email. Image-only emails load slowly, cannot be read with images off and are more likely to be filtered as spam. Use real text with a supporting image.
  • Using a personal Gmail address as sender. Send from your own domain, authenticated with SPF and DKIM, so inbox providers and readers trust it.
  • Forgetting the footer. Include your business name, a physical address or P.O. Box and the unsubscribe link.
  • Being irregular. Pick a rhythm, weekly, monthly or quarterly, and stick to it.

From first draft to sent

New to newsletters? Our step-by-step guide to creating a newsletter in Ghana covers planning, content and testing. Once the layout works, add personalisation so each reader sees their own name, city or account details.

Keep it on brand

Save your header, footer and colour scheme as a reusable template so every issue looks consistent, even when different staff build it.

Before you hit send

Remember that the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires prior written consent before you send marketing to someone. Every Mailpro newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, as the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772) expects. Start with 500 free credits and pay by sends, not contacts.
