Reviews on travel sites tell you what a few people chose to post publicly. A survey tells you what your customers think when you ask them directly, before a small complaint becomes a one-star review. Mailpro’s survey builder lets Jamaican businesses create surveys, send them by email or SMS and watch results arrive in real time.
Surveys that suit Jamaican organisations
| Organisation | Survey idea |
|---|---|
| Hotels, villas and attractions | Post-stay feedback, tour satisfaction, “would you return?” |
| Contact centres and BPO operators | Employee engagement, training feedback, shift preferences |
| Banks, credit unions and insurers | Branch service, digital banking experience, product interest |
| Schools and associations | Parent feedback, alumni interest in events, member priorities |
| Restaurants and retail | Service quality, new product ideas, delivery experience |
Ready-made examples include customer satisfaction and job satisfaction surveys, and the tourism surveys page is built for hospitality.
Smart questions, short surveys
Keep surveys brief enough to finish on a phone in a few minutes. Branching logic shows follow-up questions only when they are relevant: a guest who rates the airport transfer poorly can be asked why, while everyone else skips ahead. Mix rating scales with one or two open questions, which often reveal the most useful detail.
Reach respondents where they are
Send the survey link in an email to your list, add it to a post-stay automated email, or text it to customers’ +1-876 numbers for a quick one-question poll. For guests and customers overseas, time the invitation for their morning. Jamaica keeps Eastern Standard Time all year, so remember the one-hour difference with the US East Coast from March to November. You can also share a survey on your website or social media.
Respect respondents’ data
Survey answers can be personal data, and Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, 2020 applies to how you collect, use and store them. Tell respondents what the survey is for, whether it’s anonymous, and how long you’ll keep the answers. Don’t use a feedback survey as a back door to marketing consent; if you want to add respondents to your newsletter, ask separately and clearly. Mailpro stores survey data in Switzerland, outside US jurisdiction.
Timing surveys around the Jamaican year
Response rates depend on timing. Hotels get the freshest feedback within a few days of check-out. Schools do best at the end of term, before families disappear for the summer or Christmas. Event organisers should send their survey the day after a Reggae Month concert or a conference, not weeks later. Avoid public holidays such as Emancipation Day and Independence Day in early August, and be sensitive during hurricane season: if a storm has disrupted your area, pause non-essential surveys until customers have more pressing matters behind them.
Turn answers into decisions
Results appear as they arrive, with charts for each question and the option to export raw data. Mailpro’s survey statistics make it easy to compare groups, such as local and overseas guests, or one branch against another. Share the key findings with your team, fix what you can, and tell respondents what changed. People are far more willing to answer the next survey when they see that the last one mattered.
