An email campaign from a business in the Federation usually has to do two jobs. It has to speak to the local customer who drives past your door in Basseterre or Charlestown, and to the far larger number of people abroad who know you from a holiday, an investment enquiry or a semester at vet school. Mailpro is built to handle both from one account.
Plan around the Kittitian and Nevisian year
The most effective campaigns are planned months ahead, not written the night before. A simple annual plan for a St Kitts or Nevis business might look like this:
- August to October: early-booking offers for the December to April high season, sent to past guests in North America and Europe. Independence Day on 19 September gives local businesses a home-market moment in the middle of it.
- November and December: festive packages and the build-up to Sugar Mas, the national carnival that runs from mid-December into the new year.
- January to April: in-season news, upsells for guests already booked, and loyalty offers for locals.
- May and June: promotion for the St Kitts Music Festival in late June and shoulder-season deals.
- July and August: Culturama on Nevis and summer family offers, alongside prepared templates for hurricane-season updates.
Mailpro’s scheduled sending lets you prepare these campaigns in advance and release them at the right hour.
Split your list, don’t blast it
One list, one message, everyone: that is the fastest way to lose subscribers. Use segmentation to separate at least:
- past guests by the country they live in, so a Canadian gets a Canadian send time and a European gets a European one;
- local customers on St Kitts and on Nevis, who care about different opening hours, ferry times and events;
- enquiries versus customers, for example Citizenship by Investment leads who have not yet committed;
- students and staff connected to Ross University, whose needs change with each semester.
Make sure it reaches the inbox
Most of your recipients use Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo, which now expect bulk senders to authenticate their domains. Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for the domain you send from. The reasons are explained in the Gmail and Yahoo sender requirements. In Mailpro’s own customer survey, users rated email deliverability 9.6 out of 10.
Stay on the right side of the rules
The Federation’s Data Protection Act, 2018 makes consent the general basis for using personal data, although it was reported as not yet in force in February 2025. Many of your recipients are also covered by CASL, CAN-SPAM or the GDPR. Mail only people who agreed to hear from you, and include an unsubscribe link every time. Read the results and adjust
After each send, check opens, clicks, bounces and unsubscribes in the campaign reports. Compare segments: if Nevis locals click on events and overseas guests click on packages, your next campaign should reflect that.
