Designing a newsletter should take an afternoon, not a week. Mailpro gives Australian businesses three ways to build one, from a ready-made template you can edit in minutes to full control over the HTML. Whichever you choose, the result is responsive, compliant with the Spam Act’s identification and unsubscribe rules, and ready to schedule for each time zone.

Three ways to build

Start from a template

Mailpro’s library has more than 600 newsletter templates, sorted by industry and occasion. Many seasonal designs assume a northern-hemisphere calendar, so treat them as a starting point: swap the snowflakes on a Christmas template for beach and barbecue imagery, and use the Father’s Day template in September, not June.

Drag and drop

The newsletter builder lets you add text blocks, images, buttons, social links and a countdown timer, which works well for an EOFY sale closing at midnight on 30 June. No coding is needed.

Write or import HTML

If your agency or developer supplies HTML, paste it into the WYSIWYG HTML editor or import it from a URL. Our page on HTML newsletters covers when this route makes sense.

Making it feel Australian

  • Spelling and tone: colour, organise and centre, not color, organize and center. Australian readers notice, and a relaxed but direct tone usually works better than hard-sell language.
  • Prices: show AUD and be clear whether GST is included.
  • Seasons: summer is December to February, winter June to August. A “summer sale” in July confuses everyone.
  • Places: if you have stores in several states, use dynamic content or segments so each reader sees their nearest location.
  • Language: if a large share of your customers read another language at home, consider a translated version. Mailpro’s AI email translator can help with a first draft.

Personalisation

Add a first name to the greeting, show a store address by postcode, or change the offer by loyalty tier. Mailpro’s dynamic fields pull data from your contact list into each email. See how to create a personalised newsletter for Australian subscribers.

Every commercial newsletter sent to Australians must identify the sender and include a working unsubscribe, under the Spam Act 2003. Mailpro adds an unsubscribe link to your newsletters; make sure the footer also shows your business name and contact details. Add your ABN if you like; it helps readers recognise a legitimate Australian business.

Before you send

  1. Preview on mobile and desktop.
  2. Send tests to Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail.
  3. Check every link and the unsubscribe.
  4. Schedule by time zone so Perth doesn’t receive it before breakfast.
