A lot of email sent from Malta is not a newsletter at all. It is a booking confirmation from a hotel engine, a deposit receipt from a gaming platform, a statement notice from a fund administrator, or an invoice from an accounting system. These messages have to arrive, quickly, every time. An SMTP relay such as Mailpro’s handles that delivery so your own server or application doesn’t have to.
Why not send directly from your own server?
Mail sent from a web server or office IP is often junked or rejected: those IPs lack a sending reputation, may share ranges with abusers, and are rarely configured with proper authentication. A dedicated relay gives you managed IP reputation, bounce handling and logs. Read what SMTP is and how it works for the background.
Built for Malta’s key sectors
iGaming
Platforms send high volumes of account, verification and security emails, often across many languages and jurisdictions. Mailpro’s SMTP accepts authenticated connections from your application and logs every message, useful when support needs to prove an email was delivered.
Financial services
Fund administrators, payment institutions and corporate service providers send confidential notices. Connections are protected with TLS 1.3, and data is stored on private Swiss infrastructure outside US jurisdiction.
Tourism
Hotel and tour booking systems need confirmations to arrive instantly, including in peak summer when volumes rise.
What you get with Mailpro SMTP
- Authenticated sending from any application that supports SMTP.
- Bounce handling, so invalid addresses are identified automatically.
- Message-level logs for support and audit trails.
- Open and click tracking on transactional messages if you want it.
- Deliverability focus: email deliverability is rated 9.6/10 in Mailpro’s own customer survey.
- Pricing by sends, so you pay for the messages you actually send.
Data protection angle
Transactional emails contain personal data, so GDPR applies to the relay you choose. Because Mailpro hosts in Switzerland, which has an EU adequacy decision, Maltese controllers do not need an extra transfer mechanism such as standard contractual clauses for this hosting. Purely transactional messages are not direct marketing under Malta’s S.L. 586.01, but if you add promotional content, the consent rules apply.
Setup in brief
- Create SMTP credentials in your Mailpro account.
- Configure your application, CMS or ERP with the server, port and credentials.
- Authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
- Send a test and check the logs.

Visibility on every message
Track deliveries, bounces, opens and clicks per message; see SMTP statistics. For higher volumes or strict reputation needs, a dedicated IP is available. Prefer an HTTP integration? Compare with the email API.
