A newsletter is the one marketing channel a Vincentian business fully controls. Social media reach rises and falls with each platform’s algorithm; a list of people who asked to hear from you stays yours. The question is which tool to use, and the answer looks a little different from SVG than it does from a large market.

Five questions to ask before you choose

1. How am I charged in the quiet months?

Many platforms charge by the number of contacts stored. That hurts seasonal businesses: a resort in the Grenadines may hold thousands of past-guest addresses but only mail heavily from September to April. Mailpro charges by the emails you actually send, not by contacts, so a large list does not cost you anything while it rests. Compare plans on our pricing page.

2. Will my newsletter look right on a phone?

DataReportal’s Digital 2026 report counted mobile connections equal to 105% of SVG’s population (DataReportal, 2026). Your readers are on phones. Every Mailpro template is responsive, and you can start from more than 600 designs in the newsletter templates library.

3. Where is my data stored, and who can access it?

If you email European guests, GDPR applies to their data. Mailpro hosts data in Switzerland on private infrastructure, outside US jurisdiction, and never sells or rents it. Switzerland has an EU adequacy decision, which keeps transfers straightforward.

4. Can I add SMS and forms without another subscription?

Island businesses often need to send a quick text when a ferry is cancelled or a storm is coming, or run a guest survey after the season. Mailpro combines newsletters, SMS, forms and surveys in one account.

5. Will my mail reach the inbox?

Look for domain authentication, bounce handling and clear statistics. In Mailpro’s own customer survey, users rated email deliverability 9.6/10.

What to put in a Vincentian newsletter

  • For visitors: what is new on the island, events such as the Bequia Easter Regatta and Vincy Mas, early-booking dates and practical news like new flight connections into Argyle International Airport.
  • For locals: store openings, new stock, loyalty rewards and community news.
  • For the diaspora: Independence Day stories, Christmas and Nine Mornings events, and ways to send gifts home.
  • For members and clients: service updates, holiday opening hours and reminders.

Planning a year of newsletters

MonthTheme ideas
January to FebruaryHigh-season news, last-minute availability, new menu or services
MarchNational Heroes Day on 14 March, Easter and Bequia Regatta plans
May to JuneCarnival guide, band launches, start of hurricane season and how you will keep in touch
July to AugustCarnival highlights, Emancipation Day on 1 August, summer offers for locals
September to OctoberEarly bookings for winter, Independence Day on 27 October
November to DecemberNine Mornings from 16 December, Christmas orders, year-end thanks

You do not need to use every date. Pick the ones that match your business and plan content a month ahead.

How often to send

There is no universal rule. Monthly works for most small businesses, with extra sends around peak moments. A charter operator might send weekly in October and November and once a month in the summer. Watch your unsubscribe rate: if it rises after a change in frequency, step back.
