Assess your level in 30 questions, about 25 minutes. The questions go from beginner (A1) to advanced (C2): answer without a dictionary and leave a question blank if you do not know. Your level is shown at the end.
Use this templateThis German level test gives an indicative level from A1 to C2 in about 25 minutes. It starts with verb conjugation and articles, then moves on to cases, prepositions and relative clauses, and ends with the subjunctive, passive forms and idioms. Learners see their level as soon as they submit their answers.
Use this test to place new students in the right group, to check a team's level before a course or to measure progress at the end of a term. Each question is a German sentence with a gap and four options, so learners can answer quickly on a phone or computer. Typical difficulties of the language are covered step by step: dative and accusative, word order after “obwohl”, “je… desto”, Konjunktiv II. The final result is shown in one of six bands, from beginner to proficient, which gives teachers a common reference.
The test works as a scored quiz: answers are corrected automatically, the pass mark is set at 50% and a 35-minute timer warns participants five minutes before time runs out. Change the threshold, the duration, the number of attempts or the bands as you see fit, and edit or replace any question. Add your logo and colours, then share the German level test online by link, by QR code or in a Mailpro newsletter. Results arrive in Mailpro, and tags set according to the level reached let you invite each learner to the right course.
