Pick the trigger Date d’anniversaire (Birthday date) in Mes Automatisations (My Automations). Mailpro reads the contact’s birthday field every day and fires the workflow on the day-of (or with the offset you set), every year, automatically. No special data import is needed beyond making sure each contact has a birthday recorded.
How the Birthday trigger works in practice
The trigger reads the day-and-month of the birthday field on each contact. Year is ignored, so the workflow re-fires on the same day every year — the contact gets a birthday email on their 30th, 31st, 32nd birthday and so on. Contacts whose birthday field is empty are simply not eligible until you fill it in.
Offsets: D-day, D-7, D-30
You can fire the email on the day itself or shift it. A D-7 offset lets you send "Your birthday is coming, here is your gift" a week ahead; a D+0 offset sends the wishes on the day; a D+30 offset checks in after the celebration. Combine an offset with a delay between steps if you want a 2- or 3-email sequence around the date. These fire once a day, not instantly — see when date-based automations fire for the exact time of day.
Common use cases
- Greeting + promo code — restaurants, hair salons, e-commerce.
- SMS wish — short, personal, and usually read within minutes. See automatic birthday SMS.
- VIP gift — combine the trigger with a tag filter so only your top customers get the bigger gift.
