We’re excited to announce the launch of Mailpro Sender Score (MSS) — a new feature designed to help you better understand and improve your email deliverability.
Until now, many marketers had to guess how mailbox providers were perceiving their emails. With Mailpro Sender Score, you no longer have to guess — you get a clear score, updated based on your sending practices and email authentication.
What Is Mailpro Sender Score?
Your Mailpro Sender Score is a reputation score calculated for the domain you use to send emails.
- It ranges from 1 to 100
-
It’s based on two equally important factors:
- 50% Contact Behavior: open rates, click rates, unsubscribes, bounces.
- 50% Trust Factors: proper setup of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and MX records.
In other words, it tells you how trustworthy your sending domain looks — both to recipients and to mailbox providers.
What’s the Difference Between Sender Score and Global Score?
When you log in to Mailpro, you’ll see two different scores:
-
Mailpro Sender Score (per domain)
Calculated for each domain you send from. For example, if you send campaigns from [email protected], that domain has its own score. This helps you fix domain-specific issues like missing SPF or poor engagement. -
Mailpro Global Sender Score (per account)
Shown on your Dashboard. It’s an average score across all your domains/senders and gives you a big-picture view of your overall email reputation. For instance, if one domain scores 9/100, another 7/100, and another 4/100, your Global Score may average to ~7/100 — revealing where one sender might be dragging the overall reputation down.
This two-layer system means you can zoom in to fix specific senders and zoom out to monitor your overall performance.
Why Does It Matter?
- Better inbox placement (less chance of landing in spam).
- Stronger trust with ISPs (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.).
- Higher engagement with your audience.
On the other hand, a low score is an early warning that your list hygiene, domain setup, or sending practices need attention.
How to Improve Your Score
- Keep your contact lists clean — remove inactive or bouncing addresses.
- Use authentication protocols correctly: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Focus on quality over quantity — avoid sending too often or to unengaged users.
- Create valuable, engaging content that encourages clicks and opens.
- Monitor both your Sender Score and your Global Score inside Mailpro to track improvements.
