Emails sent through an SMTP relay are often the ones customers care about most: receipts, confirmations, password resets. When one goes missing, you want to know why, fast. Mailpro’s SMTP statistics show the status of every message and the overall health of your sending.

What you can see

  • Volume: how many messages your applications sent per day or hour.
  • Deliveries: messages accepted by recipient servers.
  • Bounces: hard bounces for invalid addresses, soft bounces for temporary issues.
  • Opens and clicks: engagement with your transactional messages, where tracking is enabled.
  • Location: where messages were opened, through geo-tracking.

Detailed email analysis lets you drill down to a single message, which is what your support team needs when a customer calls.

Reading the numbers

A sudden rise in bounces

Often a form is collecting mistyped addresses, or an old contact list has been re-imported. Validate addresses at entry and remove hard bounces straight away.

Deliveries fine, opens low

Messages may be landing in spam. Check that SPF, DKIM and DMARC are in place, and that the From address is on your own domain rather than a free webmail address.

Different results by region

For Canadian senders, regional patterns can reveal simple issues. If transactional emails to one province show lower engagement, check the language: a customer in Quebec may skim past an English-only notice.

Spikes at odd hours

A burst of messages at 3 a.m. Eastern could be a scheduled job, or a compromised form sending spam. Investigate unusual volume quickly; spam from your domain damages your reputation and may raise CASL questions.

Busy seasons

For Canadian online stores, transactional volume often climbs sharply between Black Friday and Boxing Day. Watch hourly statistics during those weeks: a growing queue or a jump in soft bounces from one mailbox provider can indicate throttling. Spreading non-urgent notifications over several hours helps.

Statistics and privacy

SMTP logs contain email addresses and sometimes names, so they are personal information under PIPEDA. Keep them only as long as needed. Mailpro stores statistics in Switzerland, outside US jurisdiction, encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit, and never sells or rents data, which supports the transfer assessment Quebec’s Law 25 requires.

Reports for your team

Share reports with managers or clients, and compare periods to see whether changes to your domain setup improved delivery. In Mailpro’s own customer survey, email deliverability is rated 9.6/10.
