A form that adapts to each respondent

An individual has no VAT number, a happy customer doesn’t need to explain what disappointed them. With the conditional logic of the form builder, you say when a question should appear, and the form rebuilds itself live as answers are given. Fewer unnecessary questions means fewer drop-offs and more accurate answers.

The conditions available

Textcontains, does not contain, is empty, is not empty

Apply toa question, a whole row, or the move from one page to the next
Show

A question at the right moment

Show “Please specify” after “Other”, the delivery address when the box is checked, or “Why?” when the rating is low. A condition can apply to a single question or to a whole row of fields.

Branch

A path based on the answers

In a multi-page form, decide where the respondent goes after each page: to the page that concerns them, or straight to submission. A default page covers every other case.

Reliability

Clean answers

Conditions are checked again on our servers on submission: a hidden question is never stored, and a required question only counts as required when it is shown. Your exports contain only answers that make sense.

HOW IT WORKS

Add a condition in three steps

1

Ask your questions

Build the form as usual, with every possible question.

2

Add the condition

On the question, row or page: choose the reference question, the operator and the value.

3

Test it

Open the preview and change your answers: questions appear and disappear live.

EXAMPLES

Useful conditions, every day

Quote request

Different questions depending on the type of project, and the right contact person.

Registration

A workshop’s options appear only if the workshop is chosen.

Satisfaction

“What should we improve?” only after a low rating, with rating scales and NPS.

Contact

The “Order number” field only for a question about an order.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Conditional logic or branching logic: what’s the difference?
It is the same idea. Branching often refers to page jumps (going to a page based on the answer) and conditional logic to showing or hiding a question. Mailpro does both.
Can I combine several conditions?
Yes. Require all conditions to be met, or any of them, and group them: for example “customer AND (low rating OR low recommendation)”.
Can a hidden question be required?
Yes, and it will only be required when it is shown: a respondent who doesn’t see it is never blocked.
Are answers to a hidden question stored?
No. Conditions are checked again on submission, and only answers to questions that were actually shown are kept.
Does it work for surveys and quizzes?
Yes. Forms, surveys and quizzes use the same builder, and therefore the same conditions.
