AMP for Email (AMP4Email) is an open standard that lets an email contain interactive, app-like content — such as forms, image carousels, accordions and live-updating data — that the reader can use without leaving the inbox. It ships as an extra part alongside the regular HTML version, which acts as a fallback.

How AMP for Email works

An AMP email is a multipart message with a special AMP part plus a standard HTML part. Supporting email clients — notably Gmail, and some others — render the interactive AMP version; everywhere else, the reader simply sees the normal HTML email. The AMP part uses a restricted, secure subset of components, and senders must be allow-listed by the mailbox provider before AMP content will display.

Why AMP for Email matters

AMP for Email can lift engagement by letting people act inside the message — RSVP, browse products, submit a survey — instead of clicking through to a page, which suits transactional and interactive campaigns. Because support is uneven, a solid responsive HTML fallback is essential. Read our guide to HTML emails or design campaigns in Mailpro's drag-and-drop editor.
