Most UK organisations don’t have a designer on hand every time a newsletter is due. The café owner writing her monthly update, the charity volunteer sending the spring appeal and the marketing manager at a regional builders’ merchant all need the same thing: a way to produce a clean, branded email in an hour rather than a day. Mailpro gives you three routes, depending on how much control you want.
Route 1: the drag-and-drop editor
Build the newsletter block by block: headline, image, text, product row, button, footer. The newsletter editor needs no coding, and every layout is responsive, so it reads well on the phones most British subscribers use to check email. Add a call-to-action button in your brand colours and a countdown timer when an offer ends at midnight.
Route 2: start from a template
Mailpro has more than 600 newsletter templates. Choose one close to what you need, swap in your logo, colours and photos, and save it as your house style. Templates written for American holidays are easy to adapt. Change Mother’s Day in May to Mothering Sunday in March, swap Thanksgiving for a harvest or Bonfire Night theme, and replace dollar signs with pounds.
Route 3: bring your own HTML
Agencies and in-house developers can import finished code, or edit the HTML directly. Our page on HTML newsletters covers what to check before a coded email goes to a UK list, including Outlook rendering and dark mode.
Make each copy feel personal
Insert the reader’s first name, their nearest store or the date of their last order with dynamic fields. Show different content blocks to different segments, such as Scotland-only offers for a bank holiday that England doesn’t share. See how to personalise your newsletters, keeping within what your privacy notice tells subscribers.
Before you press send
- Check that your business name and a contact address appear in the footer, and that the unsubscribe link works. PECR requires both.
- Send a test to yourself on a phone and on a desktop.
- Write alt text for key images so the message still makes sense when images are blocked.
- Schedule for the right time in GMT or BST.
After sending, campaign statistics show which sections readers clicked, so the next issue can be better. New to all this? Our step-by-step guide to creating a newsletter starts from a blank account. Your newsletters and contact lists stay on Mailpro’s private Swiss infrastructure, outside US jurisdiction.
