Every newsletter starts with a sign-up. A good subscription form is short, clear about what people will receive and quick to fill in on a phone. This page explains how to build one with Mailpro, and where to place it so Grenadian customers and overseas visitors see it.

Keep the form short

For most businesses, two or three fields are enough: email address, first name and, optionally, a choice such as “I live in Grenada” or “I’m visiting.” That single question lets you send locals and tourists different content later. You can collect more details over time.

Say what people will get

Replace “Subscribe to our newsletter” with something concrete: “Monthly offers and events from our St. George’s store” or “Early access to Spicemas and high-season rates.” People sign up for a benefit, not a newsletter.

Grenada has no dedicated anti-spam law, and the Data Protection Act, 2023 is not yet in force. Many of your subscribers, however, live in countries where the rules are strict. A clear, unticked consent checkbox and a link to your privacy notice keep you on safe ground everywhere. Learn more about double opt-in.

Turn on double opt-in

With double opt-in, new subscribers receive an email asking them to confirm. It removes typos and fake addresses and gives you proof of consent. That proof matters when your list includes Canadians under CASL or Europeans under the GDPR.

Build it in Mailpro

  1. Open the forms section and choose a subscription template.
  2. Keep the email field, add a first name and a short choice question.
  3. Add your consent text and privacy link.
  4. Connect the form to your newsletter list.
  5. Switch on double opt-in and customise the confirmation email.
  6. Publish and copy the link, QR code or embed code.

Our FAQ on creating a newsletter subscription form covers each setting in more detail.

Where to place it in Grenada

  • On your website homepage and booking confirmation page.
  • In your social media bio.
  • As a QR code at reception, on menus, on shopping bags or on event wristbands.
  • On a tablet at your stand at the Chocolate Festival or during Spicemas events.

Welcome new subscribers straight away

Set up an automated welcome email that thanks people, repeats what they will receive and, if you like, offers a small reward. It is usually the most-opened email a subscriber ever gets.

Measure your sign-up rate

Track how many people view your form and how many complete it. If many start but few finish, shorten the form. If few view it, move it somewhere more visible. Small changes to the headline or the benefit you promise can make a big difference, so test one change at a time.

Keep the promise you made

If the form says “monthly news,” send monthly news. Readers who get what they signed up for stay subscribed; readers who get something else leave, or mark your email as spam.

Your subscriber data is stored in Switzerland, outside US jurisdiction, and never sold or rented. For other form types, see online forms in Grenada.
