“Did you get my email?” is one of the most common questions in any office. When your website, accounting software or booking system sends email through Mailpro’s SMTP server, you can answer it with data rather than guesswork.

What Mailpro records

  • Sent: the message was accepted by Mailpro from your application.
  • Delivered: the recipient’s mail server accepted it.
  • Bounced: the message was rejected, with the reason, such as “mailbox does not exist” or “mailbox full”.
  • Opened: the email was opened, where tracking is possible.
  • Clicked: a link inside was clicked.

All of this is available in your dashboard and in statistics reports.

Everyday uses for Grenadian businesses

Proving an invoice was delivered

An accounting firm or supplier can show exactly when an invoice email reached a client’s server and whether it was opened, which is useful when payment is late.

Catching booking problems early

A hotel can spot confirmations that bounced because a guest mistyped their address, and contact them by phone or SMS before they travel.

Checking contact forms

If enquiries from your website seem to have stopped, SMTP logs show whether form notifications are being sent and delivered, or whether the problem lies elsewhere.

Where your readers are

Geo-tracking shows the countries where emails are opened. Grenadian businesses often find that a large share of their transactional email is read abroad, by visitors, overseas buyers and students’ families. That is worth knowing when you choose send times and wording.

Which email apps they use

The email client analysis shows which apps and devices your recipients use. If most are on mobile, make sure your transactional templates are easy to read on a small screen.

Reading bounces

  • Hard bounces mean the address is invalid. Correct it at the source, for example by adding an email confirmation field to your booking form.
  • Soft bounces are temporary. Mailpro retries automatically; persistent soft bounces may point to a full or inactive mailbox.

A sudden rise in bounces or spam complaints can also signal a problem with authentication, so check your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.

Keeping statistics useful

Review your SMTP reports weekly during busy periods such as the winter high season and Spicemas, and monthly the rest of the year. Look for changes rather than single numbers.

Privacy

SMTP logs contain personal data, including names, addresses and activity. Mailpro stores them in Switzerland on private infrastructure, outside US jurisdiction, and never sells or rents them. Grenada’s Data Protection Act, 2023 is not yet in force, but restricting access to logs to the staff who need them is good practice now.

Exporting logs

You can export SMTP logs for a given period, for example to attach to an accounting file or to answer a customer’s query about a missing email. Keep exports secure and delete them when they are no longer needed.

When numbers change suddenly

If delivery rates drop overnight, check three things first: whether someone changed your DNS records, whether a new form or import added bad addresses, and whether your website has been compromised and is sending messages you did not write. Mailpro’s logs make each of these easier to spot.
