Most business email in India is not written in a newsletter editor. It is generated by software: a GST invoice from accounting, an order confirmation from a store, a fee receipt from school software, an appointment reminder from a clinic system. If that software sends through a shared hosting server or a personal mailbox, messages often land in spam or disappear. An SMTP relay fixes that.

What an SMTP relay does

Your application hands each email to Mailpro’s SMTP server, which delivers it to the recipient’s mail provider using authenticated, reputation-managed infrastructure. You change a few settings (host, port, username, password) and your software keeps working as before. If you are unsure how the protocol works, read what is SMTP.

Software Indian businesses connect

  • E-commerce: WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop and custom stores sending order and dispatch emails.
  • Accounting and ERP: invoices, payment reminders and statements, including around the 31 March financial year end.
  • Education: school and college management systems sending fee receipts and circulars.
  • Healthcare: appointment confirmations and reports from clinic software.
  • Websites and CRMs: contact-form notifications, password resets and lead alerts.

Advantages of Mailpro’s SMTP

Authentication

Configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain, so Gmail and other providers can verify that your invoices really come from you. That matters in a market where phishing emails often imitate banks, courier companies and tax notices.

Visibility

Every message sent through the relay appears in your statistics, with delivery, bounce, open and click data. See SMTP statistics for what you can track.

Security

Connections use TLS 1.3. Your data is hosted in Switzerland on private infrastructure, outside US jurisdiction, and is never sold or rented. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you must take reasonable security safeguards for the personal data in your emails; choosing an encrypted, authenticated relay is part of that.

One account for everything

The same Mailpro account can also run newsletters, automated emails and SMS, with contact management shared between them.

Keep transactional and marketing separate

Use the relay for service messages the customer expects. Promotions belong in consented campaigns, sent with an unsubscribe link. Mixing the two weakens deliverability for your most important messages, and TRAI applies the same principle to SMS: a service message containing promotional content is treated as promotional.

Common set-up questions

Will my existing software work?

If it lets you enter an SMTP host, port, username and password, it almost certainly will. Most Indian accounting, school management and store platforms have these settings.

Do I need a developer?

Usually not. The main technical step is adding DNS records for your domain, which your hosting provider or IT partner can do in a few minutes.

Can I keep sending from my .in or .co.in domain?

Yes. You authenticate your own domain, so recipients continue to see your usual address.

Getting started

  1. Create a Mailpro account (500 free credits to test).
  2. Add and authenticate your sending domain.
  3. Enter the SMTP settings in your application.
  4. Send a test invoice or order email to Gmail and one other mailbox.
  5. Monitor the first week of statistics.

Pricing is based on the number of emails sent; see pricing. For more on the relay itself, see Mailpro’s SMTP service page, and if you are building your own app, compare API vs SMTP.
