A subscription form is the front door to your mailing list. For a business in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, it is also the simplest way to prove that people asked to hear from you, which matters because many of your subscribers may live in Europe, Canada or the US, where consent rules are strict.
Keep the form short
Ask for an email address and, at most, two more things. Good choices for Vincentian businesses:
- First name, for a personal greeting.
- Where do you live? St Vincent, the Grenadines or overseas. It lets you send local offers to residents and travel content to visitors and the diaspora.
- Interests, such as sailing, diving, food or events, if you plan different content streams.
Build it with Mailpro’s sign-up form tool, or start from the newsletter sign-up template.
Say what people get
“Join our list” is weak. “One email a month with new dates, Regatta and Carnival specials, and early-booking offers” tells people exactly what they are signing up for, and sets expectations you can meet.
Use double opt-in
With double opt-in, the subscriber receives an email and clicks to confirm. It filters out typos and fake addresses and gives you a timestamped record of consent. SVG has no dedicated anti-spam law, but GDPR and CASL both value this kind of proof when you email European or Canadian contacts.
Where to place the form
- On your website’s home page and footer.
- On booking confirmation pages, as an optional extra.
- On social profiles, as a link.
- As a QR code on menus, reception desks, boats and event stands.
Send a welcome email straight away
Interest is highest just after sign-up. Set up an automated welcome email that thanks the subscriber, repeats what they will receive and offers something useful, such as a guide to getting to the Grenadines or a discount on a first visit.
Protect the list
Subscriber data is stored in Switzerland on Mailpro’s private infrastructure, outside US jurisdiction, and never sold or rented. For more ideas, see online forms in SVG or our guide to sign-up forms.
