In the quiz settings, enter the duration in minutes and how many minutes before the end the participant should be warned. If needed, add an opening date and time.

From the “Start” click to submission

  1. A start page announces the duration; before the opening time, it shows when the quiz will open.
  2. When the participant clicks “Start”, the server records the time and sets the end time.
  3. The countdown stays on screen; the warning appears before the end.
  4. At zero, the answers are submitted automatically, even if required questions were left blank.

Can anyone cheat on the time?

No. Time is kept by the server: reloading the page or changing the computer's clock does not give any extra time. An answer arriving after the end, past a short grace period, is flagged as late.

On a quiz open to everyone, another browser starts a new attempt. To prevent this, restrict the quiz to a contact list.

The timer is available for quizzes and exams only. In detail: timed quiz.
