Mailpro’s Email-to-SMS gateway lets you trigger an SMS just by sending an email. The gateway converts the email into a properly formatted SMS and delivers it to the recipient’s mobile in seconds — perfect for connecting your CRM, helpdesk, monitoring system or any tool that can send email but not SMS.

Best use cases: Server-down alerts, two-factor codes, appointment reminders, transactional confirmations, ticket updates — anything that already triggers an automated email today.

How the gateway works in 3 steps

1. You send an email to a special address: [email protected] (the local part is the recipient’s mobile in international format). 2. The gateway authenticates the sending address against your account. 3. The email body is converted to an SMS, billed against your SMS credit and delivered.

Email format and limits

FieldRule
Recipient+<country code><mobile>@sms.mailpro.com — example [email protected]
SenderMust be an authorized sender of your account
SubjectOptional. If empty, only the body is used
BodyFirst 160 GSM-7 characters (or 70 Unicode) become the SMS — see country codes
HTMLStripped automatically — only the plain-text part is converted

Setting it up in your Mailpro dashboard

Open SMS → Email-to-SMS gateway, add the email addresses (or domains) allowed to trigger SMS, and copy the generated gateway address. Test the gateway by sending an email from one of those addresses to your own mobile number.

Security note: Anyone able to spoof an authorized sender could send SMS at your expense. Use SPF and DKIM on your sending domain to prevent forgery, and keep the allow list as narrow as possible.

Common integrations

Almost any system that fires email notifications can be turned into an SMS trigger: Zabbix/Nagios alerts, Jira ticket events, Stripe payment receipts, Calendly appointments, Google Calendar reminders. Most need only a copy/paste of the gateway address into the “notify by email” field.

Pricing

Each delivered SMS uses one credit from your Mailpro SMS balance. There is no extra fee for the gateway itself. See SMS pricing for current per-country rates.
