Before launching your first SMS campaign in Mailpro, you need to import your phone list correctly. Follow these steps to ensure every message gets delivered without errors.

Pro tip: Phone numbers must be in MSISDN international format (no "+", no spaces, no dashes). Example: 447911123456 for the UK.

Prepare your file

  1. Open your spreadsheet (Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers).
  2. Create a column named Phone with numbers in MSISDN format.
  3. Add optional columns such as First name, Last name, Country to personalize your SMS.
  4. Save the file as  .xlsx, .csv, .ods, .vcf.

Import the list into Mailpro

  1. Sign in to your Mailpro account.
  2. Go to Contacts → Import.
  3. Upload your file and map the phone column to the MSISDN field.
  4. Confirm the import — Mailpro will automatically validate each number.
  5. Assign a tag or list to segment your SMS campaigns.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Missing country code: 7911123456 won't work, 447911123456 will.
  • Extra symbols: strip out "+", "(0)", spaces and dashes before importing.
  • Duplicates: Mailpro flags them so you can decide what to keep.
  • Consent: only import contacts who opted in to receive marketing SMS.
