Technically you can configure a Gmail or Hotmail address as a sender in Mailpro. It is no longer recommended, however — Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft now enforce strict DMARC policies.

Avoid: sending campaigns from [email protected] or [email protected] — they will massively land in spam or be outright rejected.

Why it's a problem

IssueConsequence
Strict DMARC policyAuto-rejection by Gmail / Yahoo
No custom SPF / DKIMLow reputation, spam folder
Unprofessional lookLess trust, lower opens

Best practice

Use an address on your own domain: [email protected], [email protected]. Then configure:

  • SPF — authorises Mailpro to send for your domain
  • DKIM — cryptographically signs your emails
  • DMARC — protects against spoofing
Pro tip: Mailpro walks you through DNS configuration step by step and auto-verifies everything before each send.

No domain yet? Some options

  • Buy a domain via Namecheap, Google Domains, GoDaddy (≈ $10/year)
  • Use a sending subdomain: news.yourbusiness.com
  • Mailpro supports every DNS provider
