Managing contacts in OpenOffice Calc or LibreOffice? Importing them into Mailpro is simple and fast — if the file is prepared correctly.
Step 1: prepare the sheet
- First row: column headers (Email, First name, Last name, …)
- One address per row, no whitespace, no merged cells
- Delete unused columns before exporting
Step 2: export as CSV UTF-8 or ODS
- Menu File → Save As
- Pick the Text CSV (.csv) format
- Tick Edit filter settings
- Choose UTF-8 encoding
- Separator: comma (,) or semicolon (;)
- Text delimiter: double quote (")
Step 3: import into Mailpro
- Log in to Mailpro
- Open Contacts → Import
- Drag and drop your .csv file
- Pick the destination list or create a new one
- Map the columns (auto-detected)
- Validate the import
Step 4: review the report
Mailpro shows a summary and the detail of rejected rows in the import report.
Common errors
- Garbled characters → encoding is not UTF-8 → re-export
- Mixed columns → wrong separator → set it correctly in the mapping step
- Empty rows → clean the sheet before exporting
