If your subscribers click a link in your newsletter and land on the wrong page — or get an error — the cause is almost always inside the URL itself. The good news: every redirection problem has a quick fix.
The most common cause: special characters in URLs
Mailpro automatically wraps every link in a tracker so that clicks can be measured. When the original URL contains accents, spaces or special characters, the tracker may break and the redirection fails.
Use clean, properly encoded URLs
A safe URL contains only letters, numbers, hyphens and slashes. For example:
https://www.mywebsite.com/folder/page.html
How to fix a broken link in 3 steps
- Open your campaign editor and locate the faulty link.
- Replace the URL with a clean version — no spaces, no accents, no special characters.
- Send a test email to yourself before re-sending the campaign to your full list.
If the destination URL itself contains required parameters, encode them with a URL-encoder or use a short URL service that produces a clean redirect link.
Already sent the campaign?
You cannot rewrite an email after delivery — but you can fix the destination. Set up a 301 redirect on your website so the broken URL forwards to the correct page. Your subscribers will land where you intended.
Make every click count
Mailpro automatically tracks opens, clicks and conversions for every link you send. Start a free Mailpro trial or contact our support team if you need help fixing a campaign.
